Steel Bridge
ABOUT
The Steel Bridge Competition is held to supplement the education of civil engineering students with a comprehensive, student-driven project experience from conception and design through fabrication, erection, and testing. The competition culminates in a steel structure that meets client specifications that would be expected in a real world project. The goal is to optimize performance and economics of the structure.
Students are exposed to real-world engineering issues such as spatial constraints, material proprieties strength, serviceability, fabrication and erection processes, safety, aesthetics and cost.
